Cinco De Gatos is a post-hardcore band from Chicago, IL, first formed by bassist Jason Dummeldinger and guitarist/vocalist Jonathan Scott in 1994. The band's first demo, recorded in the fall of 1994, featured Scott's roommate, Dan Sullivan (of Screeching Weasel fame) on drums. Scott and Dummeldinger were later joined by drummer Kim Ambriz and second guitarist Andy Kuharich and recorded an album entitled "Epiphany Wants to Come Home" in the summer of 1995. However, some time after the recording, Ambriz and Kuharich left the band and the release was scrapped. Drummer Scott Ames joined the group but the band split in early 1996. In 2010, Dummeldinger and Scott resurrected the band with drummer Jon Flood and Jonathan Scott's brother, Robert, on second guitar. They released a digital EP called "Home Taping is Destroying Hardcore" and played a few shows before calling it quits again. In 2019, the band reformed again, this time with Jerry King on drums, releasing new and archival material through their Bandcamp page.
