Adrina Hanson

Since her first Suzuki violin lesson at the age of 9, Adrina has had a passion for expression through music. For both middle and high school, Adrina attended the Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts, majoring in Orchestra and minoring in Music Theory and Guitar. Adrina added playing the viola to her repertoire and began teaching lessons professionally in 2003. In 2004, Adrina was awarded a violin scholarship to the University of Las Vegas. She studied Nursing and Graphic Arts while continuing to hone her musical and teaching skills. During college, Adrina worked as a sales rep for Sam Ash Music. Her position there connected Adrina with professional musicians who were often seeking a session violinist for their recordings. In 2006, Adrina recorded the album, Sam's Town, with Grammy Award-nominated band, The Killers. Adrina also encountered parents at Sam Ash in need of private instruction for their children. Before long, she was fully immersed in teaching and playing music on the infamous Las Vegas strip and in the downtown Arts District. Adrina continued teaching violin lessons after transferring to The Arts Institute of Las Vegas and Philadelphia, where she graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Graphic Design. Currently, Adrina lives in Maryland where she enjoys teaching, photography and playing music with her son. Adrina works well with students of all ages but is especially gifted at connecting with and instructing very young students. She performs with various groups spanning the genres of gypsy jazz, folk, and electronic music including the Gypsy Jazz Performers of D.C., Void Vision, and Teething Veils. Being active in recording and performing, Adrina maintains memberships in the Screen Actors Guild and The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
