John Draycott grew up with music. He comes from a family of musicians. With Dad on the fiddle, Mom on the banjo, John on guitar and his sisters on the piano and organ, the household was a lively place to be on a Saturday night. As a young boy, John's family would spend Saturday nights with his family, at the homes of relatives. These musical house parties were regular events throughout his childhood. John's music was influenced by John Prine as well as Neil Young, John Denver and the Eagles. By age 20, he was writing his own music and lyrics. A few years later, he made his first professional recording at Tamarack Sound and had airplay for some of his own songs on some well-known Ontario Country radio stations. His music attracted interest from Hamilton, ON based Indie label ROTO NOTO Records. He recorded 6 original songs at the renowned Grant Avenue Studios. These recordings were distributed world wide and received airplay in 23 countries. John was then offered an opportunity to record videos for his songs for Hamilton's television station, who had a big show featuring Canadian country artists. He was featured on CHAM radio station's 'This Week in Canadian Country'.
