Gramofone

Gramofone is a pop/rock Bucharest-based band inspired by the classic rock and blues sounds of acts like Led Zeppelin and The Doors, the funkyness of The Meters and James Brown and the conceptual approaches of Pink Floyd and The Beatles. The debut full-length LP "Confessions from the Belly of the Beast" tackles themes of addiction, mass-media and the daily corporate grind. While the album was recorded as a three-piece with a simpler, short and to-the-point approach, the current live lineup, through notable TV, radio and festival perfomances, honed a more layered and extended version. The combined talents of lead singer Andrei Mardar, bassist Tibi Ionescu and drummer Cristi Nicoară help make the live album a more subtle, soulful beast.
