Darren Keeling

Heavy metal/hard rock bassist and vocalist from Austin, Texas. Keeling formed the band Matrix with classmates from Austin High School in 1985. The group split in early 1986 and Keeling went on to start the band Assalant in mid-1986. In the late 1980s, Keeling played with the hair metal/hard rock bands Dancyr and Gypsy Rose before joining Blind Date. After Blind Date ended, Keeling played in Catch 22 and spent some time working on an alternative rock project. Keeling left the rock scene and played drums in country bands from 1997 to 2000 then quit music altogether until he returned to playing bass backing country rock musician Mike Clifford.
