Ewa Matejewska was born in the Polish capital Warsaw. At the age of six, she started playing the piano and changed to the harp six years later. After high school she moved to Cologne, where she began her studies at the University of Music and Dance Cologne in the class Prof. Han - An Liu. In 2007 she successfully completed the diploma program "Music Education", in 2011 the degree program "Artistic Education" and in 2014 the master degree program Interpretation New Music with Prof. David Smeyers. Since the beginning of her studies, she regularly plays as a temporary assistant with the Warsaw Philharmonic. In 2010/2011 Ewa completed an orchestra internship at the Philharmonic State Orchestra Mainz. Since then she has been helping out in various German orchestras, among others with the Niederrhein Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra Aachen and Philharmonic State Orchestra Mainz. She received musical impulses from various conductors, including Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, Krzysztof Penderecki, Long Yu, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Nicolae Moldoveanu, Jacek Kaspszyk, Frank Ollu, Michael Luig, Markus Creed and others. Master classes with Susann McDonald, Isabelle Moretti, Frederique Cambreling, Chantal Metheu and Sarah O'Brien complete their training. Ewa Matejewska devotes herself intensively to chamber music, especially in the field of New Music. Often she works closely with the composers. She has already premiered and recorded several compositions with the members of the Ensemble 2021. She leads two harp classes at the music schools Euskirchen and Düren and teaches privately in the Cologne area.
