Japanese film and TV actress (b. 10 May 1947, Tokyo). Karin Yamaguchi (やまぐち かりん), born Shizue Yamaguchi, was one of the members of Kobo Abe's actor studio in Tokyo; she adopted "Karin" stage name at Abe's suggestion. In 2013, Yamaguchi published her memoirs, 安部公房とわたし ("Kobo Abe and Me"), in which she revealed a previously unpublicized romantic relationship with the renowned writer that lasted for over 20 years.
