Matthias Beckert

German classical conductor. Matthias Beckert teaches as a professor for choral conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe Previously, he was professor for orchestra conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold and professor for choral conducting at the Musikhochschule Würzburg. He has also worked at the Hochschule für Musik in Hannover and as a visiting professor at the Hochschule für Musik in Krakau. As a conductor he directs the vocal ensemble Cantabile Regensburg and the Monteverdichor Würzburg. With his choirs he has won several prizes at the Bavarian and German Choir Competitions. He also works with radio choirs as well as with orchestras such as the Nürnberger Symphoniker, the Jenaer Philharmonie, the Vogtland Philharmonie, the Thüringer Philharmonie Gotha-Suhl and the Hofer Symphoniker. He regularly conducts early music ensembles, including the Concert Royal Köln, the Würzburger Barockorchester and the Akademie Für Alte Musik Berlin.
