Dream Metaphor

Dream Metaphor is a Portuguese Project which was born totally by chance, on October, 2004. It all started on September, 2004 when [Replycant] decided once again to dedicate some of his time to music. He started then the composition of what would have been a demo for the project Ezylohm_tek. The ideas were emerging, the music were being born The demo's name was then chosen: Dream Metaphor. Under lifes circumstances at that time he was kind of nostalgic and melancholic so the music started to reflect that state of mind. Feeling that this wasn't the Ezylom_tek sound, Dream Metaphor was born. After this, the demo was called [Contact] and the dreams started to materialise. In September, 2005 Dalila B. was invited to sing a new song, in order to introduce another human element on the compositions. Dalila becomes the voice of some songs, and gives a great support on live performances, on the synthesizers. In October 2006 Joana F. joins Dream Metaphor as live dancer / performer, and hte project turns into an artistic colective. Now Dream Metaphor also makes live multimedia installations using other forms of art, besides music, like dance, performance, video and poetry. "Once Human I'd Dream about You..." is the first installation. Dream Metaphor intends to be an attempt to giving life to dreams through music. The music tries to be as simple as possible, melodic and on the other hand mechanic, the duality of man/machine, the organic vs synthetic. The concept is essentially about the dreams world, and the way it is translated so many times, through the imaginary of the cinema, specially in futuristic films, scientific fiction and the dark.
