Danish singer, songwriter and guitarist (born 14 November 1953 in Lyngby, died 23 March 2021 in Aarhus) who played a central role in several Danish rock bands throughout four decades. In the 1970's he was a member of the political folk and rock group Hvalsøspillemændene, from 1979 in Malurt and in the mid 80's Doraz. Founded Big Fat Snake with vocalist Anders Blichfeldt in 1991. Early 2009 Viskinde left the band due to disagreements with the other members, in particular lead singer Blichfeldt. He then claimed to be the owner of the band name and released the album "Reel 1" under the Big Fat Snake moniker - in disagreement with his old band members - and a different line-up on 13 March 2009. The dispute was settled out of court on 16 June 2009 and Viskinde continued to release albums under his own name. In 2018 he retired from the music business to concentrate on painting. He died unexpectedly from a heart attack on 23 March 2021. Viskinde was nicknamed "sheriffen fra Lyngby" (English: "the sheriff from Lyngby") due to his love for country music, his sharp tongue and his collection of genuine sheriff stars. He is the father to four children, including Maria Viskinde and Jakob Viskinde.
