Siani is a female UK R&B gospel trio (formed in the early 2000s and made up of Simone Stewart, Agery Charlton and Nicholle Lamptey-Senior) which for some time has been well established in the UK circuit. They are considered gospel singers. And yet, their musical style drifts to R&B, a gospel-tinged R&B that has every chance of rivaling the current competition. Initially Nicholle and Simone (who are cousins) sang in duet. Subsequently, they combined their talents with Agery, a mutual friend. The name of the trio is actually a combination of each member's name: Simone, Agery & Nicholle = Si A Ni. At the beginning, they started by doing small concerts and competitions when the opportunities arise. They also sang with Kyra (famous gospel collective in England). Kyra had its independent record label, which would later give Siani a boost, collaborating on the singles "We Ain't Got No..." (2001) and "Missing U" (2002). Siani therefore recorded a few tracks, and the two singles mentioned above were well received. Specialized radios rushed to put them on their airwaves and DJs remixed their tracks. Siani were also recording the music video for their track "Missing U". They began to chain the concerts, but international this time. They gave concerts in the United States, Germany, Holland and even in South Africa. The gospel community in general welcomed the three singers as it should. Siani has grown from strength to strength, performing extensively up and down the UK and the rest of Europe, building their enormous fan-base and supporting many renowned urban acts including Mis-Teeq, Damage, Omar, Mica Paris and US best-selling gospel artists Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond and Trin-i-tee 5:7. They were 2002 & 2003 Blues & Soul Urban Music Award winners (category "Best Gospel Group"), 2003/04 Gospel Entertainment Award winners (category "Best Group"), 2004 MOBO Award nominees (category "Best Gospel Group") and 2004 GEM Award winners (category "Best Album" for their only debut album "Love Is").
