Sergio was born in Villarica, Paraguay (1939). He is regarded as one of the best Paraguayan harpists of his time, alongside Luis Bordón, Alfredo Rolando Ortiz, Luis Alberto de Parana, etc. The Paraguayan harp (also debatably known as “The Indian Harp” ) is the official instrument of Paraguay and a symbol of national identity. In the 1950's the Paraguyan government selected Sergio as the country’s music ambassador and on a tour in the US 1958 at Miami’s Festival of Latin American Music he was announced World Champion on indian harp. He toured South Africa with Sophie Tucker in 1962 and featured in The Rolling Stone song "On With The Show". He later settled in Stockholm, Sweden, where he became known through TV and radio and also played in several restaurants until he passed away in 1987.
