Doug McArthur Started Working as a Bass player in London England in 1977. He hooked up with Roland Hot (Original drummer for the London SS) and Kid Rogers (Twink and the Fairies, Kid Rogers, and the Henchmen McArthur and Hot along with friend Tudor Evans penned the song "Sensational" written about Roland's chance meeting with Siouxsie Sioux one morning.. Kid Rogers had a deal with Chiswick Records and asked McArthur and Hot to perform on his guitar instrumental "Getaway" he chose their song "Sensational" as the B side for the single. Ted Carrol, President of Chiswick records, decided that "Getaway" along with "Sensational" should be released as a double-A 45" or Single. Doug McArthur said in an interview, " I had forgotten about that recording and years later saw it on E-Bay.. I also found ""Getaway" on a compilation 20 great guitar instrumentals album" Doug later joined the power trio "Killerhertz" McArthur had lived in a Nottinghill Gate flat for a short period, with Lemmy Kilmister of "Motorhead" Fame. Killerhertz drummer Mark Rathbone moved into the same flat about a year after McArthur had moved out and into his own flat down the street. after a gig review describing Killerhertz as a cross between Motorhead and the Ramones. The pair jokingly attributed their sound to "what was happening at the time and possibly a little Osmosis". Doug McArthur Emigrated to Canada put away his Bass and started to play guitar. He has been in many bands in the last few decades including blues band "Big Chill" where he plays rythm lead guitar on the Big Chill CD "A Thrill in the air"
