From Harlan Ellison Reads On the Downhill Side: Elise Morris "graduated from Ohio University in 1974 with a B.A. cum laude in Creative Writing. She has per formed on the same bill with everyone from Linda Ronstadt to Leo Kottke, the Hello People to Les McCann, Ryo Kawasaki to the Atlanta Rhythm Section, in major clubs in both New York and Los Angeles. Ms. Morris says, "After playing pop more and enjoying it less, I'm interested in writing music for dance and film." That she is more than ready is apparent in the beautiful music that accompanies and underlines Harlan's story, and in her own song, the haunting "Lizette" that closes side two. Adds Ms. Morris, "I want to learn to sing like [Willem] de Kooning paints." Here solo album Dancin' With The Boys included this biographical summary: "That haunting wail at the beginning of the hit tv show “Cold Case” is none other than Elise Morris. As a studio and stage professional, she has toured with Joe Jackson and Ronnie Spector, played and/or sung behind Darlene Love, Les McCann, Boy George, Cy Coleman, Shawn Colvin and Peter Paul and Mary among others. She’s written lyrics for Pat Metheny and Charlie Haden and collaborates with choreographers, artists and filmmakers all over the world."
