US blues singer-songwriter and guitarist. Originally from San Diego, California, where he played with New Wave band The Fingers in the late 1970s, followed by the band Mighty Penguin in the 1980s. Thompson moved to Virginia in 2006 and is now based in the Washington DC area with recent residencies in New Orleans.
