Dec 19, 1943 - Oct 17, 2010 British singer-songwriter. Born in 1943 as a result of a relationship between a young spitfire pilot and a young English girl, he was raised by his aunt and uncle. Originally from the Bradford area, Swift moved to Belgium, settling in the Antwerp area. He started as a young performer who got the chance to go on tour in the London scene in the early Sixties with the band 'the Honey Bus'. In 1969 he moved to the United States and was backstage at Woodstock. He became a 'CBS recording artist' and made the 2 LPs called 'SONGS' & 'INTROVERT' in 1971. John Swift then traveled through the Sixties and Seventies as a support act on world tour with YES (2x), Black Sabbath, Joe Cocker and The Rolling Stones. He associated with others like Albert Lee, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Marley, Graham Nash, Stephen Stills and many others. He played 5 times in the Royal Albert Hall in London. He died in the Stuivenberg Hospital in Antwerp after a coma due to sugar deficiency in diabetes.
