A common hobby, music, along with the desire to dream artistic creations and communicate the feelings that were fiercely running, led four young men and women in 1992 to form the Folk Group "Senderos del Alba “(Paths from Down). At Christmas 1996 "CARRIÓN" folk group was born. Two years later, in 1998 Several records his first album "Enramada “(Arbour) in Armando Records study (Valladolid). The group presented this work in March, the 18th, in the Principal Theatre of Palencia (Spain), with the institutional support from City Council and the enthusiastic supporters who filled the auditorium. From this record work, Carrión's peculiar technical interpretative has been expanding instrumental timbres, applying them to a rich repertoire that stems from Castilian tradition, especially in Palencia, and has been enriched by the contributions of these musicians who assimilated, internalized and express root music with all the richness of their selected instruments, accompanied by diverse and cared percussions. The success and acceptance of Carrión's interpretive style led in 1999 the recording of "Música de la Catedral de Palencia” (Music from Palencia Cathedral", thirteen instrumental songs from the Book of Chirimías, wrote in 1751 by Antonio Rodríguez de Hita, Master of the Cathedral Chapel of Palencia. They were selected for more than ten years in several music programmes: "Youth in Concert ", "Youth Music" from the Junta of Castilla and León. Since 2003, Maria Alba's voice brings poetry of the letters expressed in his most fresh and tender context, whilst it reinforces the percussion adding new hues. Since late 2007, Samuel Villarrubia promotes the instrumental and timbre wealth. During its ten years of existence, Carrión group has spontaneously tuned with traditional music of Palencia crossing the country with more than five hundred concerts. Between 2006 and 2007, they recorded their latest CD "Sube al Árbol” (Go up to the tree), a more evolved and mature work. The result is a multiethnic fusion, using as a raw material the Castilian traditional scores. It is the new folk of the 21st century, as specialist critics. ..
