Roy & Decent People

Danish 1968 to 1970 soul/R&B inspired rock group formed as an instrumental quintet, The Decent People, in the spring of 1968 in Hørsholn/Rungsted. After expanding to a septet with organ player Ole Trier and UK singer Roy St. John Foster which band band recorded their sole 7" record in the fall of 1968 and played concerts in Denmark and Sweden. In the summer of 1969 Roy St. John Foster left to co-found Def Cisum and Andreas Jensen (6) also left. They were replaced by singer Tom "Tobias" Steenberg (ex-Someones) and bassist Ken Schoer (ex-Fourways) and the band again took the name The Decent People. By the end of 1969 John Ziegler (7) was replaced by saxophonist Torben Ebbesen (ex-Someones) but they disbanded soon after.
