Gaby Rogers

English pianist & bandleader (b. London 30 Dec., 1908 - Working professionally aged 14, and leading own band aged 17. Music Director for some famous artists (Marie Burke, Tessie O'Shea, Jack Buchanan) in 1920s/1930s? Musical advisor for Noel Coward film "His Happy Breed" (1944). Leading orchestra on BBC (1947). Came to Australia in June 1948 and worked ar Radio 2KY as a producer, then led a band at Romano's for five years. A&R at Philips Records 1953-1959? Left for the U.S. in 1960. Please do not confuse this artist to Gaby Rodgers (Alias used by Jerry Leiber when he co-wrote the song "Jackson".)
