Shuta Hiraki

Shuta Hiraki, a Japanese electronic musician who was born in 1990 and lives in Nagasaki, Japan, has publicized his own works under the pseudonym obalto since 2014. Influenced by the trend toward more “drone-based” ambient music in the latter half of 00’s, he started to create ambient/drone music himself centering on various field recordings and its sounds processed by DAW around 2013. In 2015, he presented his track to the compilation album UNNOISELESS NOISE COMPILATION 003 -NOISE BODIES- released by a Japanese noise record label UNNOISELESS. In 2016, at the exhibition and sale event called M3-2016 Spring, he exhibited the album Liquefaction which marked the first album for the unit with an experimental ambient artist enso56. Driven by fascination with drone-sound, he has continued to create works since he started his career.
