Perino Fiorentino

Perino Fiorentino (born in Florence, 1523; died 1552) was an Italian lutenist and composer in the Renaissance period. As a child he was a pupil of Francesco da Milano; his position as Francesco's protégé apparently placed him in high regard at the court of Pope Paul III, for he is mentioned in the papal account books as recipient of a cash gift at the age of 13 (in January 1537) and again in the following year. His name appears twice more after Francesco's death in 1543–4.
