The Walkden Band

The Walkden Band can trace it’s origins from around the 1850's being formed as part of the Duke of Ellesmere Yeomanry band. In 1890 they became associated with Walkden Workingmen's Mission but broke away and became independent in 1893. The Walkden and Eatons Farnworth bands merged in 2005. Farnworth & Walkden Band are a friendly North-West UK band graded "2nd Section" nationally and "2nd Section" in the North-West area. They are located on Worsley Rd Walkden, down a short track between Wallace Cars and Century Motors, leading to a band room and car park. Normally rehearsals are Monday and Wednesday at 8pm
