Matilda Magnusson

Swedish musician, composer and vocalist born in Ödåkra outside Helsingborg in Skåne on December 10, 1986. She currently lives in Gothenburg. She has studied at Nordiska Folkhögskolans Visskola, and in 2007 she received a scholarship from Visans Vänner in Uddevalla with the motivation: "Matilda Magnusson sings Swedish ballads with a commitment and an energy that is very special and completely her own. Undaunted she moves from traditional literary ballads to modern rhythmic tunes and self-composed songs, always with the same glowing and convincing empathy. Well rooted in tradition, she is a young innovator of the Swedish 'visa'".
