Blasius Amon

Austrian composer of the late Renaissance Blasius Amon was born c. 1560 in Hall in Tirol and died 1590 in Vienna. In his time he was considered one of the most important German composers, being and excellent contrapuntist and champion of the Venetian polychoral style. He published a number of collections of sacred music, various motets and masses, mainly in Munich and Vienna, such as "Missae" (1588) "Sacrae cantiones" (1590) and "Breves et selectae quaedam Motetae" (1593, posth.).
