The Hicks Family

Family of traditional folk singers from Fentress Co., TN. 1800's immigrant Joseph Hicks (not to be confused with his later grandson Joe Hicks) came to America, his son, Daniel Hicks established residence in Fentress, Co. handing down hundreds of folk songs to his children, though he was never recorded and died in 1948. His children are Dee Hicks, Nancy Hicks Winningham, Joe Hicks (5) & Besford Hicks. Dee Hicks and his wife, Delta Hicks, recorded many titles and toured & performed folk festivals.
