Multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, engineer, and producer. Ward writes and records primarily songs about the Bible, although he produces secular albums when "something neat comes along." He was the founding member of the band Bonepony in 1990. While he was in the band, they released "Stomp Revival" on Capitol Records (Kenny Mims/ producer) and later put out "Traveler's Companion" on their own label, Super Duper. Ward states, "Although I have mostly fond memories of those days, my life then was pretty lost in drugs and alcohol. I ran into Jesus in Mississippi in 1999 and turned a corner...I never came back..." Just after Bonepony came an effort with Michael Webb, Craig Wright and Eliot Houser... with a group called "Heavywood Brand" and one album, "Variety Rule" made it out. He released "ThompsonWard" and "Porch Funk" in 2008 Steve Thompson. As a solo artist he has released "Jesus Record" (2002), "Ominous Joy" (2009) and "Sacred Cows". He also did an album as a member of The North MS Kairos Band called "Parchman Lounge" (2011)... "it's got a bunch of ole timey Jesus music we do at the prison..."
