Australian guitarist and vocalist. He studied for a year at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and at the age of 23, he spent 12 months in Los Angeles at the Guitar Institute of Technology (G.I.T). During this 12 months, Brett had the opportunity to share the stage with, or perform for many talented players, including childhood idols, Robben Ford (American Blues, Jazz and Rock guitarist, member of LA Express, collaborator with Joni Mitchell, George Harrison, Miles Davis and Kiss) and Pat Martino (renowned Jazz and Fusion guitarist). During the 1980s, Brett toured extensively with a number of local bands in his native Queensland including Big Red & The Brakes. A move to Sydney in 1987 led Brett to Choirboys, who had recently signed a deal with Mushroom Records. Brett’s first tour with Choirboys was to support Bon Jovi’s “Slippery When Wet” national tour in 1987. Brett’s first recording foray with Choirboys resulted in the “Big Bad Noise” album. The first single from Big Bad Noise “Run To Paradise” featured Brett’s signature guitar solo, which reached #3 on the Australian singles charts at its peak and remains the 11th highest selling single in 1987.
