Chris Warner is a composer, sound designer, arranger and orchestrator working across a range of theatre and media based projects. Passionate about telling stories through the medium of music and sound, he has a reputation for creating work that demonstrate a meticulous ear for detail and reflects the highest production values. He is privileged to have worked with many inspirational and talented artists amongst some of the world's leading production houses and institutions. Within the world of music for media, Chris is an established composer with Audio Network, industry-leading producers of high quality production music for television, film and advertising. His original compositions have been recorded at Abbey Road (comprising a range of hybrid-orchestral and chamber music albums) and mixed by music industry legends such as Haydn Bendall (Kate Bush, Pet Shop Boys, Massive Attack Katie Melua, Leona Lewis) and Rob Kelly (DJ Yoda, John Altman, James Seymour Brett). He also has experience of working at some of the other top London studios (AIR, ANGEL and STRONGROOM). As an orchestrator and arranger, Chris has worked across the fields of theatre, film and television. In addition to arranging and scoring all his own compositions, he has worked on the additional orchestrations and score preparations for film soundtracks (including the award-winning COMMON PEOPLE) commercials and promo videos (Carolina Herrera S/S 13 runway show in New York) and even a full length orchestral ballet ('Waiting Room', Thüringen Staatsballet in Germany) for which he did additional synth programming. He created all the rock band arrangements for the Children's BAFTA nominated BBC Make A Musical. Chris has also composed incidental music and themes for a number of BBC Radio features and documentaries, including the theme for Radio 2's A History of British Comedy with David Mitchell. As a composer and sound designer for theatre, Chris has created original scores and sound designs for over 20 theatre productions, working at The Lyric Belfast, RSC Studio, and on groundbreaking productions such as 'The Boat Factory' which enjoyed sell out tours around the UK, Europe and Off-Broadway in New York. He was a finalist in the 2017 Cameron Mackintosh Resident Composer Scheme at the RSC and currently has several of his own theatre projects in various stages of development and is always looking for future R&D opportunities with new collaborators. Most recently he was a finalist in the 2017 Cameron Mackintosh Resident Composer Scheme at the Royal Shakespeare Company, and has developed pioneering outdoor immersive family theatre work using ‘Silent Disco’ technology (‘Day Dreamers', Full House Theatre). He is currently composing the score for a new musical theatre work exploring themes of memory, landscape and loss set on the Norfolk Broads, part of the Heritage Lottery Funded ‘Water, Mills and Marshes’ project, in collaboration with the trail blazing regional touring theatre Eastern Angles.
