Tohru Maruyama is a Japanese drummer and bassist, best known as one of the intermittent members of The Gerogerigegege. Maruyama appeared on several notable early sessions with Juntaro Yamanouchi. On 23rd Oct 1985, at Takaido Fukushi Center in Tokyo he played bass on the '2nd demo' for Violence Onanie, one of the 'hit singles' from the band's debut Senzuri Champion LP. (This version remained unreleased for 30+ years, until 2018 Senzuri Champion Revised = センズリチャンピオン-改訂版- CD.) On the same day they also recorded an hour-long heavy noise improvisation, which ended up on the obscure '94 mailorder CD by Taiwanese label/fanzine Noise. Next year, Maruyama switched to drums and played a few more sessions with Juntaro — early renditions of the Gerogerigegege's famous '1-2-3-4 noisecore' program, including 1-min double track "Rock 'N' Roll" ~ "Dutch Wife ABC" (later released on 'Senzuri Champion' LP as well), and a few songs subsequently included in the 'Tokyo Anal Dynamite' CD. First set, recorded at the same Takaido Fukushi Center studios in Jan 1986, was released on '92 765924 7" by the U.K. label Psycho Mania Records. The follow-up session, documented with a 'cheap shit tape recorder' at Studio Penta, Gotanda in October, was released 8 years later on 1023682 7".
