Lonnie Guerrero

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist, born on June 21, 1917, in Manor, Texas. Guerrero moved to Austin, Texas soon after he was born and by the 1930s was traveling Texas, performing corridos, a type of Mexican folk ballad. Guerrero collected traditional corridos as well as composing his own. After serving in World War II, he returned to Austin and continued writing and performing music while employed as a janitor. Guerrero passed away On January 10, 1994, at age 76. Father of Luis Guerrero (2).
