Concertmaster. Alexey Aleksandrovich Puzakov was born in Moscow in May 1966. The main influence on the formation of musical taste was exerted by the Хор Московского Храма «Всех Скорбящих Радосте» under the direction of Nikolai Vasilyevich Matveev (Николай Матвеев (2)). The work of this master became for Alexei Puzakov the cornerstone and guideline in his future church and music ministry.In 1994, with the support of the rector of the Church-Museum of St. Nicholas in Tolmachy, Archpriest Nikolai Sokolov, and the employees of the State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Alexei Puzakov founded the Хор Государственной Третьяковской Галереи. In the spring of 2009, with the appointment of Metropolitan Hilarion Alfeyev as rector of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow", work began on the revival of the Хор Московского Храма «Всех Скорбящих Радосте», once famous throughout Russia. Alexey Puzakov has headed a new group of 80 choristers and is destined to become the leading professional church choir in Russia. On January 3, 2010, Patriarch Kirill gave his blessing to revive the historical name of the Synodal Choir (Московский Синодальный Хор) on the basis of the choir collective of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow".
