Ben Tewaag is the eldest of the three children of actress Uschi Glas and film producer Bernd Tewaag. Tewaag worked as a first unit manager for a long time before stepping in front of the camera. In 2005 he starred in the RTL series The Secret Life of Players' Women, which he partially co-produced. The series was canceled after just four episodes due to a lack of ratings and bad reviews. On MTV Germany he presented Mission MTV and the German Jackass offshoot MTV Freakshow. In 2002, Tewaag hit the headlines because he was accused of taking part in a fight that took place in Munich in front of the P1 discotheque, during which he is said to have poured rum over a cameraman and set it on fire. In the years 2009/2010 he was imprisoned for 18 months due to a judgment against him for assaulting his girlfriend. He wrote the novel 313 about his time in prison. In 2015, Tewaag was again on trial for assault. The district court in Tiergarten sentenced him to 170 daily rates of 60 euros each for attempted coercion and bodily harm.[6] At the end of 2015, Tewaag was arrested in Ibiza after a self-inflicted car accident under the influence of alcohol. At the beginning of 2016, he was therefore sentenced to a suspended prison sentence of several months, a driver's license suspension and compensation for pain and suffering. In September 2016, Tewaag was one of twelve participants in the fourth season of Celebrity Big Brother on Sat.1. He left the reality show victorious and won €100,000. In August 2019, Tewaag was arrested in Berlin after stabbing the tires of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. In May 2019, there was a dispute in a bar in Würzburg between Tewaag, his friend and the landlord and guests of the bar, during which the police were called. Tewaag had to go to the nearby police station and was put in a cell there. After a few minutes he rang the bell and presented a wound to the forehead to the officers who rushed over to him, police officers say: The wound came from mistreatment by one of the law enforcement officers who had taken him from the bar, he claimed and filed a complaint. However, this could not be confirmed. On the advice of his lawyer, he did not risk a trial. Instead, he accepted a penalty order that spared him a public hearing. Tewaag has a son with the actress Alexia von Wismar.
