Lawayne Satterfield

American female songwriter, journalist, and liner notes author. Born on Dec. 12, 1942 in Gainesville, Georgia. Died March 12, 2015 (72 years old). She attended Truett McConnell College and the University of Georgia. She was journalist, starting her career with The Daily Times in Gainesville, Georgia. In 1967 she moved to Nashville, Tennesse to become the first Executive Director of the Gospel Music Association, later Editor of the Music City News, and owner of Image Public Relations Company in Nashville, Tennessee. She was also in charge of public relations for World Wide Music, Inc. beginning in 1976 or 1977. She wrote all of her songs with singer/songwriter Dewayne Orender. BMI IPI# 39432089.
