Ganyahmun

The band was setting up between high school classes back in 1997, at that time four friends, David Martínez “El Abuelo”, Antonio Rodríguez “Toño”, Javier Flores “Javi” and Rodrigo Mercado "Rodri", the first three with a Spanish guitar on his shoulder and the last singing the forty, met at one of their homes or on the roof of "Toño", as well as lost in the country house to have fun and create music. In the spring of 1999, Raúl “El Peluca”, a friend of training and drums, joined the group, this led to the group meeting in a rehearsal room. After six months and several bowling for small bars in the area, the group underwent its first change, Raúl "El Peluca", was replaced by Luis Mármol "El Pelao" with his hybrid "drums - percussion", which fit better with the style that Ganyahmun was addressing. In January 2002, the incorporation of Jose Angel Vera “El Muyayo” with its tenor and soprano saxes took place. Its island airs (native of the island of La Palma), seasoned some themes with a new warmth and brightness. In 2003 the group dedicated it to the preparation and recording of their first album ¨Apeiron¨, recorded in the missing BOX studio, with producer Eugenio Muñoz. The recording period was extended because it was a personal bet of Eugenio Muñoz, the main architect of the project seeing the light.
