Ivan Zoloto

Ivan Zoloto (b. 1989, Petrozavodsk, Karelia) is a musician and artist based in Barcelona. Besides solo work, he currently runs School Of The Arts label and plays drums in drone band Petrozavodsk (named after his hometown). In 2009–2017 he was part of the acclaimed Karelian duo Love Cult making dark electronica, drone, and techno. Other notable collaborations include Damo Suzuki, Vincent Moon, and Lydia Kavina. Ivan has performed live and DJ sets at Sónar, Barcelona; Flow Festival, Helsinki; The Hermitage museum during Manifesta Biennal, Saint Petersburg; CTM Festival, Berlin; Outline Festival and Arma events, Moscow; UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles); Shoreditch Church, London; Fylkingen, Stockholm; Sonic Acts Dark Ecology project; Watergate (Club), Berlin; Chinese night clubs Shelter and Dada; Södra Teatern, Stockholm; Thalia Hall, Chicago; events like Boiler Room and Asian Dope Boys. Zoloto has been running several labels, most notably Russia’s Full Of Nothing (2010–2018) known for such artists as Moa Pillar, Zurkas Tepla, Hmot, Lovozero, and more. Early labels he co-founded include Triangle (3) and Chopsticks Recordings. A big radio enthusiast, Ivan has done guest shows for BBC Radio 3, NTS Radio, Dublab, UCLA Radio, WNUR, Seoul Community Radio, and co-founded the Moscow avant-garde station New New World Radio. He’s also made mixtapes for Syon, Blowing Up The Workshop, and other series.
