George Evans (2)

British writer, and producer for television and radio, who was active from the 1950s. During the 1960s, his name was synonymous with that of Derek Collyer, as much of his output during that time was co-written with him. However, he also wrote with Laurie Wyman, and was involved with a BBC sketch show, 'Broaden Your Mind', on which John Cleese, Bill Oddie, Marty Feldman, Barry Cryer, and Michael Palin, to name but a few, were also writing. Of the numerous scripts that he wrote for TV and radio, 'Bless This House' (TV), 'Love Thy Neighbour' (TV), and 'The Navy Lark' (radio) would be amongst his best-known work. Born: c.1924/5, in Cardiff, Glamorganshire, Wales. Died: early-April 2009, in Carshalton, Surrey, England. [pneumonia, aged 84]
