Andreas Ruckers

Andreas Ruckers (30 Aug 1579—after 1645), or Andries, was a Dutch harpsichord-maker from Antwerp, the second son of Hans Ruckers (1540s—1598). He learned the family oeuvre and began working with his brother, Hans Ruckers II after their father passed away. In 1605, Andreas got married and sold his share in the family business to Hans II three years later. His life is mainly undiscovered afterward. Andreas Ruckers continued working as a harpsichord-maker, and surviving documents mentioned him alive and well in September 1645, but his death's specific date is unknown. Most of the surviving instruments date from 1607 to 1644.
