The Mexican singer Luis G. Roldán died, on May 30, 1986 in Mexico City. Roldan was called "El Cancionero Romántico." He studied singing with María Grever. According to data from Amado Díaz Muñoz, Roldán was born on October 11, 1910 in the middle of the mexican revolutionary era. Being very young, he liked to sing at family parties and also dedicated himself to painting cars. One day the Maestro Don Miguel Lerdo de Tejada heard him sing and was impressed with his voice so he helped him to sing in the incipient XEW in 1931, with Miss Lazcano and Max Urban's orchestra. Luis introduced himself as "El Cancionero Anónimo", although later the announcer Don Pedro de Lille nicknamed him as "El Cancionero Romántico", artistic name that he always kept.
