The Flying Aces

Usually regarded as a Man spin-off band, the group also had close links to Help Yourself. Centred around the husband-wife team of Martin and George (Georgina) Ace, the line-up also featured at various times Richard Treece, Malcolm Morley, Ken Whaley and Dave Charles from Help Yourself as well as Phil Ryan and Deke Leonard from Man. A late 70's line-up consisted of the two Aces, Treece and Micky Gibbons (drums). Apparently they were a powerful live act, but the tapes which made up their posthumous 'Seashell' release show them in a softer light, light-hearted even. Some of their material appeared on the Help Yourself release 'Happy Days'.
