Created in may 1981, Formes Nouvelles is one of the first new-wave band in the south of France. The name of band is coming from a furniture shop in the center of Marseille where the band was playing in the cave. Sometimes described as impressionst music by the press, Formes Nouvelles stays the symbol of the meeting of two music generations : end of the 70's and its psychedelic music and beginning of the 80's and the post punk / new-wave age.
