German-American bandleader (born August 24, 1892 in Kowatschi, Banat, Austria-Hungary [Hungarian Temeskovácsi, modern Covaci, Romania] – died November 30, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA) A Danube Suabian (Donauschwabe) by birth, Müller emigrated to the United States in 1909. He settled in Philadelphia where he worked as a painter and decorator of furniture. In 1921, he founded a very popular band of fellow German-speaking immigrants from the Banat area. Between 1923 and 1941, he recorded at least 122 titles with bands of various names (National Kapelle, Peter Müller's Banater Kapelle, Müllerová Česká Kapela, Peter Müller's Gebirgstrachtenkapelle, Gebirgstrachten Kapelle Almrausch, Peter Müller's Schrammelorchester, Peter Muller's Band, Peter Mueller Alpen Kapelle) that were released on Gennett (1923), Columbia (1924-1934), Okeh and Odeon (1924-1926), Decca (1939), Victor (1930, 1932, and 1941), Standard International, and Standard (6) (1945-1947).
