Dimpna B. Clarin (1/27/1933 - 5/13/2006) was a young soprano from the Philippines who recorded for Saturn Research, a label founded in Chicago in 1957 by Alton Abraham and Sun Ra. Received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Santo Thomas, Philippines, and her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts, from the American Conservatory of Music, Chicago. She was a recording artist on the MICO, DBC, and Saturn labels. After a successful Carnegie Hall debut she gave many recitals in the United States, Philippines and Canada. Dr. Clarin taught voice at South Suburban College in South Holland for 39 years. She was a member of the Faculty of the American Conservatory of Music, Mu Phi Epsilon Music Sorority and Lake View Music Society. She was an educator and a mentor to many students and friends.
