Kenya Autie

Songwriter and a multi-Latin GRAMMY® winning producer working at El Cerrito Records. She studied guitar at the Guillermo Tomas Conservatory in Guanabacoa, Havana, Cuba, and was the first woman to play electric guitar in a rock band in Havana, Cuba when the government lift the ban on rock music in the 90's. Kenya has produced/co-produced over 30 albums in different genres, from Rock, to Spoken Word, to Latin, including traditional Cuban music, Tango, and Flamenco. In 2020, she received a nomination in the HMMA for the song "You Can't Stop the Music" co-written with Brooks Maguire, Joe Beck, and Cindy Paulos. Currently, she serves on the Recording Academy's San Francisco Chapter Board of Governors, where she has volunteered in the arenas of advocacy, membership outreach, and mentorship. Kenya is known for her enthusiasm, hard work, and passion for helping others; and is an advocate of women rights and diversity. Every year, Kenya helps produce the graduation songs for the Latina Center in Richmond, where young Latina women get trained to become strong leaders and have a voice in our community.
