Koos Mark

Dutch composer and conductor. Born August 27, 1944 in Leiden (The Netherlands). Worked with artists like Robert Long, André van Duin, Udo Jürgens and Petula Clark. Inspired through his musical father he start playing trumpet at the age of 6 and starts studying trumpet and piano at the Royal Conversatorium in the Hague in '58. During his study he played in several orchestra's like The Hague Philharmonic from 62 till 64 and after his study as the solo trumpeter in the Royal Military Chapel, from 65 till 73. During this period he directed some amateur orchestra's, taught at different music schools and started his own big-band which is still active today. In 2005 the Koos Mark Big Band took care of the music for the very popular TV Program "Dancing with the Stars" on RTL.
