Steve Gisby

Steve Gisby (Surrey, 1975) is a composer and performer based in Brighton, UK. His music explores mathematical processes, the juxtaposition of logical systems and indeterminacy, ‘found’ material, and the dynamics of ensemble performance. Performances have taken place in the UK, France, Germany, Serbia, Finland, the U.S and Canada. He has given lectures at universities and institutions across the UK, Europe and the U.S, including IRCAM (Paris), the Sibelius Academy (Helsinki), Lille Conservatoire, California State University at Long Beach and the University of Tennessee, and is a member of the RMA Study Group Music and/as Process. As a Rock & Pop examiner with Trinity College London, he has conducted exams in Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, India, South East Asia, the Far East and Australia.
