Admiral Academy

Admiral Academy is new music by Christopher Standish, who wrote these songs over the last 10 years. The basic tracks were recorded with friends in Austin, Texas (Crowe, Nelsen, Pestorias). Then overdubbed with more friends in NYC (Palazzolo, Trokan, Pollet, Wolf, Gordon, Weisberg, Leibowitz, Stern, Worrell, Hansen, Provonsil, Fahey, Cashin), and finally, sent to friends in Richmond, VA, (Weatherhead, Buckley), who added tracks, and mixed it into more concise compositions. Specifically: Michael Crow (Grand Champeen) recordied the basic tracks Travis Nelsen (Quencher, Okkervil River) played drums Partick Pestorias (Okkervil River) played bass Phil Palazzolo (New Pornographers, Ted Leo) recorded most of the overdubs Ben Trokan (Robbers On High Street, Reigning Sound) played Wurlizer and sang Jerm Pollet (Gals Panic, Time To Make The Donuts) played piano Meg Wolf sang Jesse Gordon (Dealbreaker) played guitar Sam Weisberg (Worst Case Ontario) played guitar David "Prince Lefty" Leibowitz (Prince Lefty and his Ramblin' Kings) played pedal steel Oscar Stern (Sweet William, Doc Oscar and the Ambassadors of Love) played banjo and dobro Kristin Worrell played flute Bitsy Hansen played cello Nicole Provonsil sang JA Fahey played percussion Dan Cashin played guitar Tim Buckley (Wobble Test, Maki) sang Al Weatherhead (Maki, Sparklehorse) played guitar and keyboards and mixed the album
