Australian baritone (b. Melbourne 18 April 1898 - d. Melbourne 4 Nov., 1960) During WWI was in 4th Division Concert Party. After the war went to England on a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music where he won the baritone prize in 1919. Toured UK in cast of "The Lilac Domino". Returned to Australia in 1920 to play opposite Gladys Moncrieff in "Maid Of The Mountains" and in early 1920s was also in various other musical productions. By 1926 was back in London starring in musicals with Gladys Moncrieff. In December 1926 made New York debut on Keith-Albee vaudeville circuit, and starred in "The Golden Dawn" (1927). In 1930 was in "The Lottery Bride" with Jeannette McDonald and began acting on Broadway. Played Macheath in "The Threepenny Opera" (1933). Returned to Australia in December 1933 to again star with Gladys Moncrieff in "Collitt's Inn" and "Beloved Vagabond". Moved back to the U.S. in 1935 and became a well-known Broadway theatre performer and toured with various musicals. Played a small role in "My Fair Lady"(1958) at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, billed as ‘Bob Chisholm’. Died in Melbourne while on tour in Australia with "My Fair Lady" in 1960.
