Luis Alberto Latorre

Luis Alberto Latorre Fuentes (Santiago de Chile, Chile, July 28, 1959) is a prominent Chilean pianist, academic, and piano soloist with the Chilean Symphony Orchestra. In 2016 he received the President of the Republic National Music Award in the learned or classical music category. Luis Alberto Latorre was born in Santiago de Chile doing his school studies at the Hispanic American College of the religious order of the Piarist Fathers. He entered to study at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Chile, to later continue his studies at the University of Indiana Bloomington in the United States. He has taught classes as a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and at the Institute of Music of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is the promoter and jury of Radio Beethoven's "Toca el cielo" piano contest.
