Folk ensemble "Kralytza" Founded in 1991 at the Department of Folklore, Folk Song and Instrumental Performance of Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts. The founder and artistic director is Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, Professor Ivan Hryhorovych Sinelnikov. The band got its name from the mythical image-totem of spring, the goddess of vegetation of the ancient Slavs. The main direction of the band's creative activity is research and popularization of folk customs, rituals, songs, choreography and instrumental music of Ukraine. The basis of the band's repertoire are songs recorded by I.G. Sinelnikov and students-folklorists in Rivne, Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions, as well as songs of Volyn, Kyiv and Dnieper regions. Theatrical form of concert performances, bright traditional, authentic folk costumes, imitation and stage embodiment of folk song traditions - all this gives the youth group "Queen" a unique, original color.
