“Formed in the summer of 1997, the members of Torsion decided on a seemingly odd lineup: live drums, bass and vocals, combined with a multitude of sequenced sounds. In 1999 they decided to include the broad repertoire of sounds and textures that a live guitar has to offer. Torsion has endeavored to step outside of the box-they are about making interesting, challenging music. Torsion focuses on songwriting that combines primal rhythms, strong melodies, and layers of 'Industrial' sequencing. Their music is a blending of organic sound with cold machines. This synthesis of sounds creates a unique experience that the band has dubbed 'Sensual Noise'. Torsion's music revolves around darker-edged themes. Some of the songs are inspired by unbalanced relationships and the instability and anger that occur between people; while other songs contemplate the times in a person's life where their self-assessment rates exceptionally low-where they feel worthless and alone. Another favorite subject matter is seduction, exploring the thrill of luring someone in and the guilty pleasure of such feelings.”
